Amy Winehouse

"I will never forget the time I went to Amy's house and she sang and played guitar for me, my mother and sisters. She is our era's Billie Holiday. I listen to a lot of music from the 30's and 40's, but Amy Winehouse is the most important and interesting vocalist of the modern era. Unfortunately, it seems that she is also following in the same footsteps as Billie - with genuine angst, drama and drug addiction."

American burlesque artist, model and actress

I can remember the first time I heard Amy sing. There was a remix of her song "You Know I'm No Good" featuring Ghostface. I was in love with her voice her lyrics her everything. And then Back to Black came out in the United States and it was all I was listening to for weeks. She rose to such deserved fame so fast and then just as quick drug abuse pulled her down and apart. So sad. 5 years in the business and only 2 albums. Her career may not even last as long as the great Billie Holiday.
