Everyone's Going Green
The major marketing transformation over the past 5 years has been the green movement. Restaurant food chains, car makers, and even oil companies have focused their advertisements on their environmentally friendly practices.
...a temple made entirely of over one million recyclable glass bottles. This temple made up of green Heineken beer bottles and brown Chang beer bottles not only helped clean the polluted surronding areas of the Sisaket province, but will stand as a testament to the green movement.
So, it was only expected that Buddhist monks would be the next to follow this hip trend. Check out what the Thai monks of the Sisaket province have thoughtfully created....

Really cool.
Dudes Base Jump World's Tallest Building
A Britsh and a Frenchman became the first men to base jump off of the Burj Dubai. This jump has since been established as a World Record for the highest base jump. They set off around 600 meters, near the 160th floor level. It took the two men an hour + fifteen minutes to climb the 160 flights of stairs (impressive especially cause they illegally snuck into the building site).
The best part of the video is watching the men jump. There is something about falling that seems straight out of a dream.
The fall reminded me of the Hong Kong scene in The Dark Knight. Beautiful.
Anderson Cooper vs. Michael Phelps
Watch CBS Videos Online
I love how competitive Phelps is. As if he should feel challenged by a television news anchor.
The 60 Minutes Michael Phelps feature will air tomorrow night.
Just 2 Guyz
Here is one of the original digital shorts Andy Samberg and friends made out in L.A. that caught the attention of Lorne Michaels and Saturday Night Live.

Lindsay Lohan Floured
PETA Animal Rights Activist or maybe just a Lindsay Lohan hater floured the celebrity right before she entered some red carpet event last week.
Pretty funny.
"Seafaring Thieves"
Somalian pirates have been hijacking precious cargo ships for the last decade. But, in the last year and especially this past week the pirates are gaining global notice by holding a Saudi Arabian oil tanker, the Sirius Star, hostage. The Sirius Star holds over a quarter of Saudi Arabia's daily output of oil worth more than a $100 million.
John Trevor The Albuquerque Journal
The Somalian pirates take these giant cargo ships hostage by deploying several speed boats to ride around the slow-moving non-protected tankers forcing them to stop. The pirates then board the ships with grappling hooks. They hold crews hostage with automatic weapons (AK-47s and Uzis) and grenade launchers (primarily used to force ships to stop).
Because, the Somalian government is so unorganized their costal waters and ports are not protected. This allows the pirates to dock the hostage ships until ransoms are answered. In past years the pirates have netted ransoms in the 10's and 100 thousands; however, this year they have hit huge new totals. $1 million ransoms have been collected. And if the negotiating Saudi Arabian oil companies submit they could possibly be paying $10-25 million for the return of the Sirius Star.
Pirates roaming the seas. It's like the oldddd days.

Quote of the Night
"This actually speaks to my entire life philosophy: I could lose any of my material possessions. I got to a place, especially with collecting, where I had to get to the core of why I wanted any of this stuff — what it really meant about me, how my ultimate being would be adjusted if I lost any of it — and I just got to a place where I'm really not connected to material things. I know that sounds silly, and this just became a lot more dramatic than I think this interview was meant to be. [Laughs] But you know, life is constantly transitional, and I've moved so much and lost so many T-shirts and photographs that were really important. You can't cling too firmly to anything material or else you'll be unhappy."

The Wrestler
No new news about Darren Aronofsky's new film The Wrestler starring Mickey Rourke. But, the hype this film is garnering is is growing by the day. The movie poster below is cool.
The movie will open in limited release December 17th. Just in time for Oscar consideration.
Mr Hudson & The Library
I listen to Mr Hudson & The Library more than anything else. This British band, that crosses so many different genre lines, plays some of the coolest music of this decade that has never been heard by anybody (or maybe just the people that hang around with).
I wish they were heard by more people. I'm sure they could become very succesful.
Their first album A Tale of Two Cities featured two music videos. Check them both out below.

Finally Found the Song
If you have seen Kevin Smith's new movie Zack and Miri Make a Porno then you already know the song I'm talking about. After a week of searching (disappointingly the song isn't on the soundtrack), I found the song and an explanation of the songs significance. Below, you'll read Smith's difficulty in getting this song in his movies.
"It’s an old song that I first heard in ‘95, when we were putting together the Mallrats soundtrack. It was actually in the film for the first test screening, but Live decided they wanted to hold onto it as a potential single off their next album (which would follow Throwing Copper). When I was editing Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, the song had still never surfaced or been released, so I put in a request for it again. Again, I was denied. Third time, apparently, was the charm. Needed a song for that sequence in Zack and Miri and remembered the Live track. This time, the band signed off on us using the track. Took 13 years, but was worth the wait."

McCain Obama Steal Hope Diamond
In an amazing feat of turnaround, Matt Stone and Trey Parker's television show South Park had an episode relating to last night election results. "About Last Night" followed the events of Barack Obama, John McCain, and Sarah Palin's (who we learn is British and actually very intelligent and agile) night following the results of the election.
